Emergency Surcharge for Shipments to/from Red Sea Countries

Dear Valued Customer,

Due to the ongoing situation in the Red Sea and Middle East, industry-wide disruptions continue, including delays and congestion at affected ports. To ensure we can continue meeting customer needs and maintain service continuity in the region, despite the increased direct and indirect operational costs, Ocean Network Express (ONE) is implementing an Emergency Surcharge (EMS).

The EMS will apply to all imports and exports to and from the affected Red Sea countries, as of 6 March 2026, and will remain in effect until further notice.

Imports: Shipments destined for Saudi Arabia (Jeddah), Jordan (Aqaba), Egypt (Sokhna), across all trade lanes and services, that have not been discharged at these locations as of 6 March 2026.

Exports: Shipments originating from Saudi Arabia (Jeddah), Jordan (Aqaba), Egypt (Sokhna), across all trade lanes and services, with rate application date on or after 6 March 2026.

Emergency Surcharge (EMS)

Effective Date: 6 March, 2026 until further notice

The Emergency Surcharge (EMS) is subject to any required regulatory approvals and notice periods. It will not apply to shipments under certain regulated lanes.

EMS will also apply to bookings that were originally destined for the affected Red Sea locations (as on 6 March 2026) but are subsequently changed to other locations for any reasons. In such cases, EMS will be in addition to applicable administrative fees, freight top-ups, and any other surcharges associated with the request.

However, EMS will not apply to cancelled bookings that were not loaded from the first port of departure.

Should you have any questions or require clarification on specific shipments, please consult your local ONE representative. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this period.

Yours faithfully,
Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd.
